6 Month Well Child Check

Lily went in today for her 6 months appointment.

She weight 16 lbs 8 ozs, 60th percentile. She is exactly 27 in. tall, 98th percentile.

The doc said there is nothing to worry about her weight percentile dropping. He said her growth is excellent and as long as she is gaining each time she is fine. She chooses how much or how little she eats because she is mostly breastfed and she eats until she is full when she eats solids also.

He also said she is way ahead of schedule in her development physically. I was pretty proud of that moment.

Ok what else...I have to start introducing meat into her diet. By 7 months she should be eating a meat everyday. This makes me a little nervous. He also said to give her more variety of fruits and veggies. This is hard for me because I have been trying and she just only seems interested in her rice cereal. She is getting better with green beans and carrots. But she doesn't eat that much not like she does with her rice cereal. But, we will keep trying new things and hopefully she will soon get used to trying something new a lot. Well, once every 3 to 5 days anyway.

Her doc also said he wishes all parents were given babies with the same personality and temperement as Lily and that she should have no problems making friends when she is older because their personalities don't usually change much. Not sure if that is true, but it sure did make ME feel good.

Oh and no shots for quite a while. We go back in 3 months but she doesn't have to get any shots. Thank goodness! She will get more shots when she is 1 year old.

Well that is about it in regards to the appointment. In other news...

Lily said dada yesterday for the first time. Now, that is all she says. I think she is just so excited to say something new. There is no meaning behind it now of course. She just says dadadadada over and over. She will at times mix it with some other sounds as well. But, we were excited and Adam was there to hear her say it the first couple times she said it.

We got her some play keys. She LOVES them! That is what helped her stop crying today after her shots.

She claps now and says Yeeeaaaa! Well you can't really hear the Y sound but it sounds like that is what she says. She has for a couple weeks but I haven't posted in a couple weeks so I have to fill you all in.

I have been working 4 days a week. Subbing is going well. I am starting to rather enjoy it. We switched babysitters and she really enjoys being with her new sitter. Well actually sitters. They are a husband and wife. So Lily gets a LOT of attention. They have 2 kids (a boy and a girl) who are in school. The boy loves Lily. He is 6. He wrote her her very first love note. That will be put in the scrapbook for sure! He thinks she is "Seriously, so cute!" His words exactly. We have a joke that he will have to wait for her until he is at least 24. He is a funny kid. I love this family. I have known them since I was a young girl.

Well thanks for reading my faithful readers. Until next time...hopefully it won't be so long. We reveal our new old floors this coming weekend. I can't wait to post pictures!
She is growing so fast! She is amazing and I am so thankful God blessed me with her!
